So, I'm on Twitter and I'm working the following and being followed...doing what my sister told me to do and I am now a follower of e.l.f. Cosmetics and someone Twittered that they were going to sign up with Mary Kay and decided against it after seeing what e.l.f. had to offer...so I went to their website and ????? Huh??
Okay, I say Huh, because when I went to their site and it was pretty much all color; which is great, but to use them as a deal breaker not to sell Mary Kay I don't believe is fair. I do NOT want to take anything away from e.l.f. because they have some color products I haven't seen in other places and it seems to me that they would appeal to the younger crowd with prices they can afford and colors they would want. However, where's the skin care?
Mary Kay, to me, is about taking care of your skin! The glamour part of Mary Kay and for any skin care is a BONUS! I love getting to the point in my parties when the ladies put on their glamour, but I believe that we all need to remember the skin care first...you can't paint on a dirty canvas. Make-up looks better on a clean, exfoliated, well taken care of face!
e.l.f. seems GREAT for picking up some unique, modern, inexpensive colors that I might, as a Mary Kay rep, even do. As e.l.f.'s All Over Color Stick looks interesting!
Mary Kay for taking care of that skin...and hey go for the e.l.f. for the glamour if that's your choice, but please take proper care of that skin first!

Mary Kay 2009 Seminary -- Oh, My Goodness!
Okay, so MK Seminar 2009 - Shine On will truly be shining in me at least until Seminar 2010.
I wish I could share with everyone right now the new products coming out in September, but I do not want to be the one to let the cat out of the bag before all of the seminar affiliations have had a chance to experience things.
But I can talk about my first Mary Kay Seminar experience! My Director had described seminar as a Marathon and it truely is...it's a marathon getting around but most of all it's a marathon of the brain...the education received at this event was truly 2nd to none!
After visiting family in Austin I arrived in Dallas the morning of July 19th ready to register and just start to take things in. After registration thefirst big event of Day 0 was the NSD Rally for my areas! The Majesty Reception was one of the highlights of the celebration having had to earn your position at the event I will cherish my first Majesty Reception button for years to come. The Area banquet and Rewards Ceremony were nothing short of spectacular...live entertainment and YES I was on stage for some of the greatest honors of the night 10 show week and for sharing the MK opportunity...it was amazing to be up there with my boa on...I was a rock star.
Day 1:
The first official day of seminar was full of new product debuts, training, and motivational speeches. But that night was my favorite of all when we met with our individual units. Our unit met in conjunction with my Director's Senior and was full of the creating of new relationships with sister conusultants, awards, training, and even more motivation.
I was the Queen of Sharing (yes, me a Queen) and I was #2 in my Unit for sales (not bad for only 3 months in the company!)
Day 2:
The second day was HUGE. Unbelievable training and then more training and just when you thought they wouldn't have anymore they would give you some more training. The evening of Day 2 brought the famous Mary Kay awards ceremony of which you would have thought you were at the academy awards, Cirque de Soleil, or a Broadway production.
Day 3:
The last day of seminar was really the most inspirational for me as I listened to the #1 and #2 Directors in the Sapphire seminar speak about their experiences and how they made it to the top. These were speaches that nobody at seminar should have missed...these two speeches for worth the price of registration alone!dw
Overall Mary Kay Seminar 2009 ranks on one of my most rewarding experiences of my life!
Can't wait to share the new products with you...I will blog about these products with the close of the last Mary Kay seminar on August 1st!

The Mary Kay Opportunity
This morning I went to another Mary Kay career breakfast and it was wonderful...one of my favorite directors spoke and I have a great meeting with my director afterwards. I got to my car and it was 1:20pm. I talked with my director for 2 hours and it felt like 20 minutes...we had such a great conversation.
So, after a great meeting this morning I wanted to talk about why I chose Mary Kay and my opinion of the company and the opportunity. This is not meant to be a blog about getting anyone to sign up with Mary Kay but just sharing my thoughts.
I have been in Mary Kay since March 31st of this year and I signed up to service myself, my sisters, my aunt, and my niece with product and I thought the people were nice, almost to nice, but nice and figured I could hang out with them every once in awhile. I went on the internet and researched the opportunity and found negative things about it from former consultants and directors and many positive things too and chose to take a shot at it! My first quarter in the business I went to meetings and told people I was selling and they bought. I sold a lot so I had a debut and I sold even more, so I thought..."Okay, lets see what I can do with this." and ended up being the #3 consultant in my National's area in my first quarter. I worked hard, I sold, and I did well...and most of all I had FUN!!! It's my girl time and I LOVE it and I make money, good money doing it. So, after 3 months of success I thought I need to decide what I really want to do with this business and so....
Today I sat with my director and discussed being a director and she gave me words of encouragement and told me what she thought of me all good of course. Now, I know what you are thinking, that she wants to push me because she will make more money and she will but you know my director and I didn't really see eye to eye on some things in the beginning which in turn actually made our relationship even stronger and brought us to a point where we tell each other the truth and just put it out there no sugar coating. If I think something is bogus I tell her and she tells me what she thinks/believe etc.
So, some of you do not know me personally and some of you do, but I pose a question to you....Do you think/believe I should be a director? I pose this question to you whether you are a consultant on my team , a friend, or whoever. Give it to me...tell me what you think!
If you do not know about the Mary Kay opportunity I challenge you to contact me and listen to the opportunity and tell me your thoughts. If you listen to the opportunity and fill out a survey I will send you a FREE gift. You also need to post on my blog what you think about the opportunity and me becoming a director.
Sorry for being so long winded!

Mary Kay vs The Others....
Okay, so I have been thinking about this for a week now (give or take a few hours.) Last week while on vacation I got into conversation with a woman on the tram at Dollywood...yes, I went to Dollywood and it was FUN!!! My kids loved it.
Anyway, this woman was a former Mary Kay consultant and she said she read an article saying that Lorel Makeup was better than Mary Kay and it was proven in some study. She didn't remember the article or how long ago or anything just that it was better. I thought "Hey I need to find this article." and in a week of looking I cannot find it! What I do know is that Mary Kay has been the #1 selling brand for 14 years...can you believe it! And while I will continue to hunt down this article I think that history speaks for itself.
To show how much I believe in the Mary Kay brand I will be giving away a Filled Compact!! (3 eyeshadows, 1 cheek color, 1 LipColor, brushes, and compact cover!)
Ways to Enter:
1 entry for checking out my Mary Kay Website and sharing what your favorite product is

Mary Kay Tinted Moisturizer w/ SPF 20
Okay, I have never been a tinted moisturizer girl...it has always been get a tan or use powder, but I was headed to the Rocky Moutains for some White Water Rafting (which was AWESOME) and I thought let's give it a try. So, I left my powder and even my concealer at home and headed to the Rocky's with a Beige 1 Tinted Moisturizer.
I LOVE IT!!! I spent all day Wednesday and Thursday on the river with the sun beating down and it was great! It took me a little bit to get comfortable with the sheer coverage, but it really does just even things out and gives a nice natural look. The product isn't pitched as being waterproof or even water resistent, but I would have to say it is most likely water resistant to a point. While others in my group were wiping on the SPF 70 sunscreen for their faces every hour or so I enjoyed my time on the river and experienced NO sunburn or redness just a great natural look and a nice looking tan as well.
Now since I love this product so much I feel everyone needs to be using it this summer, so 20% OFF for everyone who orders their Tinted Moisturizer on my website through July 31st! www.marykay.com/kperdreau
Order the Tinted Moisturizer along with a 2-Minute look and receive 25% OFF your order and a FREE makeup bag!
Talk at you soon!
